Thirlmere drawstop at St Patrick’s Church of Ireland in Ballymoney

Ballymoney is just south of Coleraine in County Antrim; a thriving town with evidently a very thriving church. The Makin Thirlmere Drawstop organ seemed to be ideal to meet the varied and significant musical needs of the church.

The defunct pipe organ façade is on the west balcony which also serves as the location for the choir and as such ideal for the new digital instrument with speakers on top of the Swell box to ensure the sound washes over the choir, organist and with ease down to the east end of the building.

Within a couple of years the colour of the light oak console will have warmed to match in beautifully with the ornate woodwork of the pipe facade.
